Affordable full-size US research humanoid from UCLA spin-off Westwood Robotics, sold online and able to manipulate objects while walking.

Overview

THEMIS Gen 2.5, announced in January 2026 by UCLA RoMeLa spin-off Westwood Robotics, is an upgraded version of the THEMIS V2 platform sold directly on westwoodrobotics.io for $17,990. Westwood claims it is the first commercially available humanoid to deliver dependable manipulation on the move, continuing to walk while carrying and handling objects, with 7-DoF arms each rated for more than 5 kg and 40% better impact resistance than prior versions. It runs Westwood's AI-Augmented Humanoid OS (AOS) with modules for whole-body control, semantic navigation and an object-centric vision-action model, and targets research labs, universities and developers.
