Collaborative-robot maker Dobot unveiled the Atom in March 2025 at ¥199,000 (~$27,500), leveraging its cobot arm expertise to claim ±0.05 mm manipulation precision in a full-size humanoid. The 1.53 m, 62 kg robot uses 28 upper-body degrees of freedom with 1:1 human-proportion arms, and its straight-knee gait cuts walking energy consumption by 42%. Driven by Dobot's ROM-1 AI system with 200 Hz upper-body control, it has demonstrated over 100 tasks from meal preparation to micro-component handling, with deliveries under way and an Atom Max variant adding 41 DoF and a 1500 TOPS AI module. Target sectors include electronics manufacturing, labs, healthcare and hospitality.
